Greetings,
Happy Lunar New Year! I hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy, happy and warm. This e-letter spotlights one of my favorite holidays - Chinese New Year. (There is no logical explanation for this except perhaps I was Chinese in a past life!)
The Lunar New Year of the Yang Water Tiger (Ren Yin) begins on February 1, 2022 and ends February 11th. It arrives just in time to bring us hope and a fresh start. The Solar New Year which is the beginning of Spring begins on February 4th. It
is a time to plant new ideas, seeds and seedlings (depending on where you live.)
Thanks to Mercury retrograde and my need to hibernate during these arctic temperatures, the Four Paws Acupuncture website make over is still in progress. Stay tuned. Maybe the cats will take over and finish it before Spring arrives.
Meanwhile to make sure you bring in good fortune for this new year here are a few tips.
- Wear red for good fortune on February1st.
- Cut your hair before the holiday - not during! It is said you will cut away your good fortune if you get a haircut during the holiday.
- Give oranges as thank you gifts to your friends and loved ones.
- If you have an altar place oranges and red candles on it as an offering.
- Clean your house and get rid of clutter so that new vibrations can enter.
- Burn sage, incense, ring bells, bang drums or use singing bowls to move out bad energy and make room for new. (And it will give your neighbors something to talk about!)

Wishing you great happiness and prosperity!
